In an Etsy Treasury

One of my tea towels has been included in an Etsy Treasury - the grass tree printed on unbleached linen.

The Treasury is called Teatime and has been curated by Donauluft (based in Austria). I think this is the first time I have been included in a Treasury so I am quite chuffed. As a relative newbie to Etsy, I haven't quite worked out how to set one up myself yet but it looks like fun.

Another of my tea towel designs is featured in the Colette Paperie blog post "Tea and Crumpets: Screen Printed Tea Towels" - along with some other Oz designers.  Colette Paperie (based in Minneapolis) also has a shop on Etsy.

Winter Sunsets

Winter is the season for spectacular sunsets. This kaleidoscope of colour was taken on the Pine River last Monday evening, on a boat from Hays Inlet.

Mission Accomplished!

I've had this on my "to do" list for ages. Finally got around to printing this special request from Max a couple of days ago. Now waiting for collection in July - and one for Sue as well.
It must be more than 15 years since I did this particular print, back in Townsville where the green tree frogs were plentiful. There was one that just loved to spend the day on top of the hot water system.
I have yet to see one here in Redcliffe - or even hear that familiar croak, even with all the rain this summer.  But I keep hoping. Perhaps as I start to revegetate my "ground zero" block the natives will start to come back. A carpet snake passed through the other day - unfortunately I wasn't around to see it.

Lovely Lovely Linen

I've just taken delivery of some unbleached linen. Lovely natural beige colour. Much more environmentally friendly - although I do like the appearance of creamy bleached linen. This new fabric has a different smell - fresh, clean, no chemicals. So nice I could almost eat it!

It is also lovely to print on. Here is my first lot - one of my favourites - the grass tree - in inky blue. I thought the rough slub running through the fabric would give me printing problems but no - just enhances the overall look. And lovely to run my hands over! Can't wait to make it up into something.

and here's another photo taken on one early morning last week - the bay in winter. Stunning.
